# Spatial India > Standardised district-level data for India. Indicators from Indian government sources — Census 2011, NFHS-5, NCRB, RBI, the Agricultural Census, MSME and others — joined onto one district geography, so they can be mapped, ranked and compared against each other. Free for personal and non-commercial use, with attribution. Districts are addressed by `objectid`, not by name: four district names each belong to two states. Resolve a name with `GET /v1/districts?q=`, which returns every match with its state. Values are `null` where a source never covered that district — never zero. Each value carries its own `estimated` flag, per district rather than per source. Every API response includes the source, vintage and caveat of each indicator; quote those alongside the number. ## API - [REST API](https://api.spatialindia.com/v1/indicators): free, keyless, read-only. Four endpoints — `/v1/indicators`, `/v1/districts`, `/v1/districts/{objectid}`, `/v1/boundaries/{objectid}.geojson` - [OpenAPI document](https://api.spatialindia.com/v1/openapi.json): the full schema for every endpoint and response - [MCP server](https://api.spatialindia.com/mcp): streamable HTTP, no auth. Six tools — find_indicator, get_district, compare_districts, rank_districts, get_methodology, build_map_link - [API documentation](https://spatialindia.com/api-platform): endpoints, MCP install snippets and examples - [The same documentation as Markdown](https://spatialindia.com/api-platform.md): install steps for every client, the tool list, worked examples with real numbers, limits and caveats — one file, generated from the same corpus the API serves ## Site - [Map](https://spatialindia.com/app): the interactive map. Deep-linkable — `?layers=` draws one indicator, `?biv=,` draws two, `?state=` zooms, `?district=` opens a district profile, `?studio=1` opens Map Studio on that view - [Map Studio](https://spatialindia.com/map-studio): publication-ready map images (SVG, PNG, PDF) with source credit and Survey of India boundaries, made in the browser - [Datasets](https://spatialindia.com/datasets): every dataset with its source, vintage and coverage - [Methodology](https://spatialindia.com/methodology): how sources are harmonised onto one district geography - [Caveats](https://spatialindia.com/caveats): what each layer does not say, per source - [States](https://spatialindia.com/states): per-state profiles - [Stories](https://spatialindia.com/stories): worked analyses using the data ## Using this data - [How to cite](https://spatialindia.com/cite): citation string and the per-source attribution each licence requires - [Embed](https://spatialindia.com/embed): an embeddable map widget for articles and reports - [Terms](https://spatialindia.com/terms) Spatial India is not a government body and the data is not official. It is a harmonisation of published government releases; where a figure matters, check it against the source named in the response.
